Surrey Square Primary School animation workshop

This is the result of two one day animation workshops I led with my assistant Ben Cady, representing Reachout RCA at Surrey Square primary school, with pupils aged 7 - 10 years old as part of the Big Draw 2012.

All the drawings and sound were done by the children during the workshop.  Even some of the capturing of the drawings on the camera were done by the children.

A big thank you to Reachout RCA for the opportunity to do the workshops,  Ben for his great advice and help during the two days an helping out with editing the footage, Matt (the teacher) and all the children who were part of it:  Rasel, Benjamin, Makafui, Jevani, Syliene, Jenai, Harry, Damilola, JJ, Farida, Sharia, Hodan, Natasha, Kalia, Fatou, Anthonia, George, Justice, Zack, Stephanie, Troy, Joshua, Nneka, Semira, Ganiyat, Ketsia, Daniel, Khyron, Freddie and Izu.

Left Nude

Left Nude was a 'film' i made in my spare time, mostly evenings whilst I made my graduation film Boogodobiegodongo.   I used my left hand so my right wouldn't get too tired and is influenced by the drawings i made when attending the life drawing classes at the RCA.   The sound is a mixture of me making arrrrrrrh noises, playing the trombone and a orchestra tuning up.  It was all drawn on A3 paper with 8B pencil and consisted of roughly 800 drawings.

Animation workshop exhibition at the R.C.A

I was recently asked by the Royal College of Art to teach two one day animation workshops with my  assistant Ben Cady ( at Surrey Square Primary school in South London.   Each pupil made an animated sequence which can be seen in the exhibition along with the original drawings and sound that they made.   We had such a fun time and would like to thank Jessie (Reachout RCA), Matt (Teacher) and all the children involved.

Brooklyn Screening curated by Julia Pott

Boogodobiegodongo was screened last night (9th November) at a screening as part of Mike Perrys exhibition.  curated by animator/illustrator/many other things Julia Pott.  This was a rescheduled screening due to the Super storm Sandy.

'Animator Julia Pott curates a short film night, showcasing work that centers around a strong emotional core, with each short cutting down to the very heart of the feelings they seek to convey. The series will focus on work by artists for whom craft is of the utmost importance, and whose hand is unmistakable in their work.'

A massive Thank You to Julia and hope the screening went well.
